Dean's Update
March 2011
Spring is always a hopeful time at Jepson and on campus. The newest Jepson students are finishing their first semester of required coursework. They are learning how to think critically and reason statistically. Juniors are busy securing credit-bearing internships with a leadership component that may lead to long-term employment or help them settle on a career path. And as many of you, our alumni, probably remember, seniors are looking forward to a series of events that mark the final stages of their time at the University and as a leadership studies major or minor: Senior Banquet, Finale, the senior recognition and appreciation ceremony, and Commencement.
Even as we are hopeful, though, recent world events demonstrate a growing need for understanding the forces that shape leaders. Our graduates will no doubt face many leadership challenges in the world and in the careers they pursue. We know they will put their Jepson education to good use.
