Prelude 2025

Prelude is the annual induction ceremony for students newly admitted to the Jepson School of Leadership Studies. On Nov. 5, the school welcomed 99 sophomores and one junior to its ranks. Among them are Presidential Scholars, Bonner Scholars, a Fulbright Scholar, an Oldham Scholar, and an Oliver Hill Scholar. Two received Richmond College’s Mateer Prize, and many have made the dean’s list multiple semesters since arriving at the University. Seven are McDowell Institute student fellows, and three have worked with Jepson faculty on their research. This newly admitted class also includes – for the second time – a child of a Jepson alum.

The recent inductees are resident assistants, orientation assistants, writing consultants, tour guides, tutors, and alumni engagement ambassadors. They serve on the President’s Advisory Council, Honor Council, Richmond College Student Government Association, and Westhampton College Government Association. Three are Jepson Student Government Association senators. The class includes writers, consultants, volunteers, cheerleaders, and Division 1 and club athletes. They work in a variety of offices on campus, including Athletics, UR Communications, Modlin Center for the Arts, Career Services, the Cellar, SpiderShop, Weinstein Center for Recreation, Well-Being Center, Admissions, and Center for Student Involvement.

The Jepson School is a special place in that it brings a multi-disciplinary approach to the study of leadership, while providing a close-knit, supportive academic community. The administration, faculty, and staff extend a warm welcome to our newest class.
