Robert L. Burrus Jr. Fellowships
About the Fellowships
The Robert L. Burrus Jr. fellowships support both students and the communities they serve. Students planning to fulfill their required Jepson internship either in the United States or abroad may apply for the fellowships.
Friends of Robert Burrus created the Robert L. Burrus Jr. Fellowship Program for Developing Leaders to honor the former chairman and senior partner of McGuire Woods LLP, who is a member and former rector of the University's board of trustees.
Applying for a Fellowship
Those who are interested in applying for a fellowship must submit an application, which includes a description of the proposed internship, to the UR Summer Fellowship web portal via SpiderConnect. A selection committee reviews the applications and chooses recipients based upon the quality of the internships described.
For more information about funding, eligibility, and the application process, please see the Forms and Guides page.
Past Recipients
Through the fellowships, students have interned for organizations such as the Desmond Tutu Peace Center in South Africa, Medical Teams International, American Community Schools in Athens, Greece, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, World Pediatric Project, A Fair World, and more. Below is a list of recent fellowship recipients.
