The Jepson Update

A newsletter for alumni and friends of the Jepson School • Winter 2020

From the Dean

The new semester has started with a bang! Two weekends ago, I attended the Georgia Historical Society’s 2020 Trustees Gala in Savannah, Ga., where Jepson School visionary Robert S. Jepson Jr. was inducted as a Georgia Trustee, the state’s highest honor.

That same weekend, almost 50 alumni were on campus to lead our annual Jepson EDGE Institute, a professional development program for our juniors.

This weekend, two current Jepson students and two recent Jepson graduates, mentored by Dr. Crystal Hoyt, will present their research at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology Convention in New Orleans, La. We eagerly anticipate learning more about their and other Jepson students’ research at the Jepson Research Symposium in Jepson Hall in April.

I'm pleased to share that we are almost 90 percent of the way to our $250,000 Profile-Raising Initiative goal. I hope you will consider a gift to Jepson to help us reach our goal.

In the meantime, enjoy catching up on all our news in this Jepson Update. I hope to see you May 29-31 for Reunion Weekend!

Sincerely,

Sandra J. Peart
Dean and E. Claiborne Robins Distinguished Professor in Leadership Studies

Robert Jepson inducted as Georgia Trustee

On Feb. 15, Robert S. Jepson Jr., B’64, GB’75, H’87, became a Georgia Trustee, an honor reserved for Georgia’s most notable leaders.

More than 500 people, including University of Richmond President Ronald A. Crutcher, Dr. Betty Crutcher, and Jepson School Dean Sandra Peart, flocked to the Savannah Convention Center for the black-tie Georgia Historical Society Trustees Gala. There, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Georgia Historical Society President and CEO W. Todd Groce inducted Jepson and Georgia architect and civic leader Robert L. Brown Jr. as Georgia Trustees.

Help us raise the profile of the Jepson School

In a directive driven by and in collaboration with the Jepson School's Executive Board of Advisors, we are executing a national marketing campaign telling the world who we are, what we do, and what employers can expect from Jepson graduates. The stategic communications campaign will increase the School's visibility among national and international leaders. It's our time to tell your story, and we hope you will consider a gift to Jepson to help us begin.
