A Message from the Dean

At the Jepson School of Leadership Studies, students don’t just learn about leadership — they live it. Whether engaging in rigorous classroom discussions, collaborating on research with faculty mentors, or stepping into leadership roles across campus and beyond, Jepson students put theory into action. Through credit-bearing internships, community service, and active involvement in student organizations, they develop the skills, insight, and experience to lead with purpose and impact.

The 17 tenured and tenure-track Jepson School faculty approach the study of leadership through their 10 disciplines, including history, philosophy, political science, social psychology, sociology, and more. They publish their research in top academic journals and presses, practice innovative teaching strategies, and mentor their students.

At the Jepson School, they studied the principles of leadership — now, they are out in the world applying those principles. Jepson alumni are driving change across sectors, leading and innovating in their corporate, government, and nonprofit workplaces.
