Virtual Service Project Planned for Alumni: 150 Days in a Lifetime of Service Campaign Invites Alumni to Reconnect With Their Roots

Many Jepson alumni, as they undertake graduate study, raise families and build careers, also give back to their communities and their professions through serving and volunteering.

To mark the upcoming 15th anniversary of the School's first graduating class, the Jepson Alumni Networking Committee is launching a virtual service project this fall. The 150 Days in a Lifetime of Service campaign will begin on Oct. 2 and go through Feb. 28.

To participate in the 150 Days in a Lifetime of Service campaign, alumni may choose to do any service project. Virtually any endeavor counts, and every hour of service counts. Alumni may choose to work at a soup kitchen, clean up a playground or lead a scout troop. Serving as a board member, developing fundraising plans for a nonprofit or advocating before a governing body also counts.

Alumni are also encouraged to do a one-time project if they so desire.

"We want to know what Jepson alumni are doing out there to save our world, or at least their corner of it," says Community Programs Director Sue Robinson. "We know our alumni are doing worthwhile projects and they are following their hearts and minds in service endeavors. We want to capture that information and celebrate their community stewardship."

The project will also provide outlets for alumni to connect with other alumni, faculty and students through a blog or social network environment.
