Religious studies scholar
Peter Kaufman and political scientist Sungmoon Kim will
join Jepson's intellectually diverse and energetic faculty this
fall.
Kaufman previously taught at
the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he specialized
in medieval and early modern religious thought. He will join Jepson
as the George Matthews and Virginia Brinkley Modlin Chair in
Leadership Studies. In the fall Kaufman will teach Foundations of
Leadership Studies and a special topics course titled Emperors,
Bishops and Martyrs. Kaufman's latest book, published in 2007, is "Incorrectly
Political: Augustine and Thomas More."
Kim recently earned his
Ph.D. in political science at the University of Maryland. He joins
the faculty as assistant professor of leadership studies
specializing in international and comparative political and
leadership theory. This fall he will teach two sections of Justice
and Civil Society.
In addition, Fang Wang,
a visiting scholar from China, will be conducting research on
organizational leadership with Gill Hickman during the
2008-09 year. She also plans to translate some of Hickman's book,
"Leading Organizations," into Chinese. |
