July 2008
SPEED NETWORKING Last
year's speed networking event - where alumni and current students
briefly chatted and traded business cards for resumes - was such a
success that we'll be repeating it in the fall. If you want to volunteer
to mentor current students in this after-work event, please e-mail
jepson@richmond.edu or call
(804) 287-6522.

THE JEPSON LEADERSHIP
FORUM: ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP This year's topic
is tied to the bicentennial of the birth of the 16th president on
Feb. 12, 1809. Programs explore Lincoln's moral leadership, ability
to sway public opinion through effective speaking and writing, his
leadership as a commander in chief and the moral roots of his
leadership. The Forum will also include a performance by the
Richmond Symphony on music in times of war and crisis, a
conversation on race and reconciliation, and a conference on Lincoln
and the South in cooperation with the American Civil Center at
Historic Tredegar. Dinners and receptions are often scheduled
with Forum events. Contact the Community Programs Office at (804)
