Upcoming Events and New Leader-in-Residence

SPEED NETWORKING Last year's speed networking event - where alumni and current students briefly chatted and traded business cards for resumes - was such a success that we'll be repeating it in the fall. If you want to volunteer to mentor current students in this after-work event, please e-mail jepson@richmond.edu or call (804) 287-6522.

NASA GREAT NAMED LEADER-IN-RESIDENCE The University of Richmond's own Leland Melvin, '86, and the first Spider in space, will serve as the 2008-09 leader-in-residence for the Jepson School of Leadership Studies. He will give a luncheon talk on NASA's first 50 years and the challenges ahead. If you would like to be invited to this event, e-mail jepson@richmond.edu or call (804) 287-6627. Several tables will be reserved for alumni, who will be guests of the Jepson School for the luncheon. More

THE JEPSON LEADERSHIP FORUM: ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S LEGACY OF LEADERSHIP This year's topic is tied to the bicentennial of the birth of the 16th president on Feb. 12, 1809. Programs explore Lincoln's moral leadership, ability to sway public opinion through effective speaking and writing, his leadership as a commander in chief and the moral roots of his leadership. The Forum will also include a performance by the Richmond Symphony on music in times of war and crisis, a conversation on race and reconciliation, and a conference on Lincoln and the South in cooperation with the American Civil Center at Historic Tredegar. Dinners and receptions are often scheduled with Forum events. Contact the Community Programs Office at (804) 287-6627, e-mail jepson@richmond.edu or contact Sue Robinson, Director of Community Programs. Forum Events
