Upcoming Events Include 15th Anniversary, Homecoming, Forum, Presidential Receptions

The Jepson faculty and staff hope to see many alumni at the following fall events:

The School will kick off its 15-year anniversary celebration with a cocktail reception, dinner and dessert bar at the Jepson Alumni Center on Sunday, Sept. 9. President Edward L. Ayers and Dean Sandra Peart will give the keynote addresses. Invitations containing all the relevant details will be mailed to alumni this month.

Jepson has partnered with the Women Involved in Living and Learning (WILL) Program to create the 2007-08 Forum "Rhetoric and Reality. Race and Gender, Power and Politics." Forum schedule

The University invites all alumni to participate in a full slate of Homecoming activities November 2-4. Because most Jepson faculty members will be attending the annual conference of the International Leadership Association in Vancouver, British Columbia, that same weekend, the Jepson School does not plan to hold its own Homecoming reception this year but encourages alumni to attend the many campus-wide functions.

Thanks to a grant from the Claude Moore Charitable Foundation, Jepson will host a midday bioethics forum on Nov. 28 at the Jepson Alumni Center. Edmund D. Pellegrino, the founding father of modern medical bioethics, will give the keynote address. If you are interested in attending this event, please contact Nancy Nock.

Finally, make plans to attend one of the many presidential welcome receptions for the University's ninth president, Edward L. Ayers. Check out the reception schedule to find a location and date convenient for you.
