Greg Efthimiou, '99

Greg Efthimiou

Greg Efthimiou, '99, is a public relations executive specializing in corporate communications. He currently serves as the leader of Internal Communications and Community Relations for Honeywell, a Fortune 100 company with 110,000 employees worldwide.

Prior to joining Honeywell, Efthimiou led Corporate and Client Communications at Bank of America Merchant Services, a payments-focused fintech company jointly owned by Bank of America and Fiserv. Before that, he led Duke Energy’s content development and brand journalism operations while also overseeing communications to inform and engage the company’s 29,000 employees. He began his career contributing to and then leading communications projects on change-management-consulting engagements at Accenture. 

Efthimiou earned a Bachelor of Arts in leadership studies degree from the Jepson School of Leadership Studies at the University of Richmond. Later, as a Roy H. Park Fellow, he earned a Master of Arts in mass communication (public relations) degree from the School of Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

Efthimiou is a contributing author to The Handbook of Crisis Communication and Corporate Communication: Seventh Edition. He was named to PR Week’s “40 Under 40” list of influential leaders in the public relations profession in 2014. 

In addition to serving on the Jepson School of Leadership Studies' Executive Board of Advisors, Efthimiou is a member of the Board of Advisors at UNC Chapel Hill's School of Media and Journalism.

A native of Garden City, N.Y., Efthimiou lives in Charlotte, N.C., with his wife and three children. He is active with Special Olympics in the Greater Charlotte metropolitan area.
