How to Apply to the Jepson School
Students wishing to major or minor in leadership studies must apply for admission to the Jepson School during the fall semester of their second year.
The Jepson School Associate Dean and a faculty committee review applications and
choose students based on essays and academic performance as well as
faculty recommendations and extracurricular activities.
Prospective majors and minors must complete Leadership Studies 201, Foundations of Leadership Studies,
before the spring of the second year.
It is wise to take the foundations course in the freshman year or fall
of the sophomore year. Students may also take Justice
and
Civil Society 205 before being admitted.
Students seeking admission to the School are encouraged to attend
information sessions, which are held in the fall. Application packages are available through the
Dean's Office.
The application deadline is in early October,
before Fall break. The new class is notified of
acceptance in late October or early November and the new
class is welcomed into the Jepson community at the
Prelude ceremony in November.
