More about Jepson Students

The Jepson School's 2007 class, its14th graduating class numbered 60 -- 35 majors and 25 minors. Representing 7 percent of the University’s graduating class of 807 students, Jepson seniors accounted for some 9 percent of students admitted into Phi Beta Kappa, 11 percent of students admitted into Mortar Board and 12 percent of students admitted into Omicron Delta Kappa. Many Jepson graduates took on honors work, played leadership roles on campus and received fellowships for research or to support their internships.

Graduates report next-step activities including moves, travel, graduate school and jobs in various fields.

Immediately after graduation, the 2003 student government president led a nonprofit anti-bias project. The 2004 president embarked on a career in New York publishing. The 2005 class president was a pre-med student. The 2006 class president was a nationally ranked collegiate field hockey player and a concert pianist who minored in music along with her major in leadership studies. She's with the CIA. The 2007 president went into business consulting in Washington. The 2008 president parlayed an internship with a national insurance company into a sales position.

Many students choose to major or minor in business to complement their Jepson study. But Jepson students also study the arts, sciences and social sciences.

Many students are involved in student government, fraternities and sororities, athletics and clubs. These activities are an important part of their growth and development in their study of leadership. Students play key roles in numerous Jepson School programs and projects, serving on committees and working closely with the Dean and the faculty.

Jepson students consistently demonstrate excellence and leadership on campus. Recently, presidents of both Westhampton and Richmond Colleges were Jepson students. The 2006 Richmond College president was a Jepson major. Two of three student commencement speakers for 2003 were Jepson students. A 2003 graduate received a Fulbright Fellowship and in 2004, the school had its first Truman finalist. In 2005, a Jepson student was awarded a prestigious Truman.
