Faculty Research & Expertise

Through their research, Jepson faculty members help define the field of leadership studies and ensure that students are on the forefront of new research. They investigate subjects such as why leaders fail, how groups make collective decisions, the leadership of grassroots groups, gender biases in leadership, leadership in a religiously diverse country, and presidential leadership. They present scholarly papers at conferences around the world and author and edit leading textbooks.

In addition, they serve as resources for national and international media, write and provide commentary and scholarship for leading publications, consult other colleges and universities, and organize national conferences.

Grants help further their research and often result in student-faculty collaboration and community-based research efforts.

As part of a multi-disciplinary faculty, Jepson professors are able to draw on a variety of academic disciplines and collaborate with one another to find new ways to examine and explore the worthwhile topic of leadership.
