Projects and Partnerships
The
Jepson School reaches out to form collaborations
across the nation, across the metro Richmond community
and across campus, assisting in the development of
leadership programs, bolstering scholarship in this
emerging field of study, encouraging the integration of
leadership studies in undergraduate study at the
community level and throughout liberal arts institutions
nationwide.
- The
Jablin Dissertation Awards
honors outstanding new scholarship in the field.
It is a partnership with the International
Leadership Association. Jepson has long held a
leadership role in that organization.

- Some 300 students a year perform community
service at approved partner agencies and sites under
the auspices of the "Justice & Civil Society"
course.

Leadership
is an innovative book series
tied to symposia presentations by some of the
nation's top scholars.

- Initiative on Leadership and
the Liberal Arts is a collaboration among
Claremont McKenna College, Loyola Marymount College
and the University of Richmond to integrate topics
of responsible leadership across liberal arts
disciplines.
- Since the School's inception in 1992, faculty
and staff have been involved in numerous projects
with middle and high schools. In 2005, to
better organize this outreach, Jepson created
The Center for
Leadership and Education in partnership with the School of Continuing
Studies. It serves high school educators,
administrators and offers some student programs.
- The
Donchian project on applied ethics
involves course
development, student research fellowships and a 2008
conference on ethical challenges of leaders. It is a
collaboration among the Robins School of Business,
the Jepson School and the University of Richmond
School of Law

Claude Moore project on leadership roles in health
care
is a collaboration between Jepson and the School of
Arts & Sciences.
- The thematic
Jepson Leadership Forum
focuses on Abraham Lincoln for 2008-09 and has
partnerships with The Richmond Symphony, the
American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar and
the national public broadcasting radio show "A
Moment in Time."
- The Jepson School's Community Programs Office is
working with the Virginia Leadership Association, a
consortium of community leadership programs around
the Commonwealth, to develop a conference for 2008
or 2009.
