The Jepson community will celebrate Kenneth Ruscio’s
tenure as dean of the Jepson School and his new role as president of
Washington and Lee University with a panel discussion of
presidential leadership in higher education on Monday, November 13,
from 4:00–5:30 p.m. in Jepson Hall 118.
“Organized Anarchy: Challenges of Leading Academic
Communities” will feature four panelists who at one time held
key positions at the University of Richmond and subsequently assumed the presidency of another college or university.
In addition to Ruscio, the panelists will include
Charles Glassick, former University of Richmond provost, past
president of Gettysburg College and former interim president at three
institutions of higher learning; Thomas Morris, former University of
Richmond professor of political science, former president of Emory and
Henry College and the current secretary of education for Virginia; and
John Roush, former University of Richmond executive assistant to the
president and current president of Centre College. Chancellor Richard
Morrill, who is authoring a book on strategic leadership in higher
education, will moderate the discussion.
Panelists and audience members will adjourn to the
faculty lounge immediately following the panel discussion for a
portrait unveiling officiated by President William Cooper and a reception. All alumni are welcome. Please RSVP
to eharvard@richmond.edu if
you plan to attend. |
