Unit Transition Guide
for Jepson Students and Advisors
In fall 2007, the Jepson faculty
approved several curricular changes in response to the
university’s adoption of the unit system. Because many
students entered the Jepson School under the old
curriculum, these changes will be gradually instituted.
What does this mean for
individual students?
If you are a rising senior
(class of 2009), the curricular changes should have no
effect on the requirements you must meet to graduate
with a Jepson degree. Given the sequencing of courses,
you should have only LDST 450 Leadership Ethics and,
perhaps, one or more advanced courses to complete.
Class of 2009 Major and
Minor Requirements
If you are a rising junior
(class of 2010), the curricular changes will have the
following effect on the requirements you must meet to
graduate with a Jepson degree. Majors should take LDST
249 Research Methods (or approved substitute) instead of
LDST 389 Research Methods, and majors will now be
required to take four advanced courses, as opposed to
five advanced courses. Class
of 2010 Major and Minor Requirements
If you are a rising sophomore (class of
2011), you must meet all requirements of the new
curriculum in order to graduate with a Jepson degree. Class of 2011 Major and Minor Requirements
